Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar: The Houston Restaurant Weeks Menu

7:00 AM

We are just halfway into Houston Restaurant Weeks. How are we all doing?! I hope everyone has gotten a chance to check out some new restaurants already. If you found a HRW menu that you'd recommend, we'd love to hear them! Please comment below, send us a DM on Instagram, or click over to the contact page.

Last week, we went to Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar to try their Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. As some of you may know, I just moved a month and a half ago, so this was my first HRW experience ever! I feel so lucky to have moved right before HRW because it's such a great way to try new restaurants while giving back! And as I'm sure most of you know, there are so many good restaurants in Houston, it's SUCH a struggle trying to make it through my "Places to Try" list. I'm definitely adding places faster than I can cross any off! HRW has given me more of an incentive to get through my list!

For those who are also new to HRW, is 5 weeks long "dining extravaganza". When you dine at participating restaurants and order off their HRW menu, a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Houston Food Bank. Depending on the meal, the restaurant donates $3-$7 dollars, which is respectively 9-21 meals generated by the food bank! Isn't that incredible? As America's largest food bank, these meals are greatly needed, and you can help out by eating good food!

Search for participating restaurants here.

With our team of three, we were able to try EVERYTHING on Liberty Kitchen's HRW menu. Here are our top picks from the menu.

TRIO OF GRILLED OYSTERS

Garlicky butter-parmesan, bacon jam-jalapeno, and jacks style hot sauce-American cheese.

SANCOCHO TRIFIASCO (LUJO EN ANTIOQUIA)

Chicken, pork belly, short ribs, plantain, yucca, potato, andean spices, corn, steamed rice, avocado, and grilled lime.

BANANAS FOSTER BREAD PUDDING 'FRENCH TOAST'

Ohio maple syrupy 'caramel' and whipped bacon jam cream cheese. All three of the desserts were really good, I'm just a big bread pudding fan. You can't go wrong with any of the choices though!

LIBERTY MULE

Liberty kitchen pineapple infused vodka, fresh lime, and goya ginger beer. Not part of the menu, but it's the perfect summer drink!
